What Is "Episcopal?"
The Episcopal Church is the American branch of the worldwide
Anglican Communion. Constituting more than 2 million members, the Episcopal
Church incorporates elements.from both its Protestant and Catholic backgrounds.
Episcopal churches vary wildly in style and character, but all follow
the Book of Common Prayer for
its order of worshipevery Sunday. The lectionary we use, the Revised
Common Lectionary, is shared with those in the United Methodist,
LCUSA, and other mainline churches.
Historical, traditional, progressive... the Episcopal Church seeks to
incorporate all the finest elements of Christian life, Catholic and
Protestant, in this faith journey.
